Coastal Snippets July 2026
We have now passed the midway point of the year. Winter is upon us in all her glory, bring with her all the wonderful things of the season, winter woollies, open fires, and the most wonderful thing of all - the mighty Dees winning football games. Even though a lot of things hibernate during the winter, the Coastal team go into overdrive managing things in your gardens. While winter brings up thoughts of staying put under a warm doona, the team are up at first light ready to

Coastal Snippets April 2026
I’m not sure if everyone is feeling this way, but it seems like 2026 is moving faster than the mighty Dees climbing up the AFL ladder. Summer is now a memory and autumn is upon us in all its glory. Our gardens have made it through the particularly dry summer season and we are starting to see more rainfall and a more temperate climate. In actuality, our gardens are looking their gorgeous autumn-on-the-peninsula best. With the change of seasonal conditions, at Coastal we are

Coastal Snippets Christmas 2025
As the owner of an incredibly busy peninsula gardening business, I could not be more proud of what my dedicated gardening team has achieved throughout 2025. Weather wise, it has been challenging at times, but the team has played the curve balls that Mother Nature has thrown at us brilliantly. We have worked especially hard to have your properties looking fantastic for Christmas and the holiday season and I am really pleased at what we have been able to accomplish. We hope th

Coastal Snippets December 2025
If we were to assign November 2025 a human moniker it could be Usain Bolt. November seems to have passed at record speed this year. It was quite a jolt to turn my calendar this morning and be greeted with Christmas artwork. Yes, there are multitudes of Christmas decorations around but, as they start to appear in September, I tend to be a bit impervious to them. The calendar however, is a little harder to ignore and dismiss. Another option for a new name for November 2025

Coastal Snippets October 2025
While many in the northern hemisphere are all about pumpkin spice and spooky season, in the southern hemisphere we are waking from our winter hibernations and enjoying sunny days and 20 plus temperatures. The beginning of daylight savings always makes summer seem tantalisingly close. At Coastal, we have seemingly got through winter comfortably, although Mother Nature was a bit frugal with the rainfall. The AFL grand final is over for another season (and hopes are already spri

COASTAL SNIPpets June 2025
As you are no doubt aware, the rain that we hoped was coming in autumn didn’t eventuate. There has been no proper rainfall and unfortunately our gardens which were valiantly holding up are now struggling. Luckily the BOM, in all their wisdom, has told us that the tide is turning on the rain front and with that lovely drop of rain last night we are feeling positive that our gardens will get the H2O break they need. We are continuing to strive to maintain your gardens as b

COASTAL SNIPpets April 2025
According to BOM, this summer is the driest one in 11 years and although that season is now behind us for another year, the dry season has unfortunately persevered. The Coastal team have been tending your properties as best we can in these conditions and although some plants are showing signs of distress, we will get them through until those rains come. After all, this is Victoria, famous for its 4 seasons in one day, so we all know that rain is coming. Perhaps, more of u

Coastal Snippets February 2025
Welcome to 2025! We should know better than to invoke the ire of Mother nature. For the past two years we have bemoaned the lack of summer heat. Well, after three consecutive days of high 30’s (feels like the surface of the sun) temperatures, and more above 30 degree days predicted in February, we won’t be doing that this year. Instead, we are enjoying the warm welcome to 2025 and hoping that the rest of summer gives us a bounty of sun filled days. Unlike us, our gardens a
